The Eagle corresponds exactly to the design specs for the standard 50-ton modular cutter, with only minor differences. It has a stronger armoured hull, and emplaced laser weapons equivalent to a dual turret mounted in the lower half of the nose cone. Its' electronics suite is considerably better than that of the cutter, with laser and maser commo and densitometer and neutrino sensors added. The front end is a flattened cone, with direct vision ports for the crew set into the top surface and the weapon emplacements set below. Behind that is an airlock and stores area, with the forward landing gear/fuel store modules attached at each side. A hatch in the rear of this area provides access to the detachable module. Above the module, a narrow spinal gantry connects the forward and rear sections together. Astern of the module, a similar hatch gives into the tiny engineering section. Fuel/landing gear modules are attached to each side of this as well, with the main drives on the very back. Attitude jets are attached to the landing gear modules, making Eagles very maneuverable in close quarters. Also provided are optional wheels which can be lowered to allow taxiing maneuvers. The centre section is taken up by a detachable module displacing 20 tons. This can contain a variety of options. A passenger module contains 32 seats. An exploration module holds sixteen seats and ten tons of equipment. The vehicle carrier can hold one vehicle of up to 16 tons displacement or two 10-ton vehicles at a push. A dedicated cargo module or fuel module can hold the full 20 tons. The exploration module has independent drive systems and can make short flights unsupported.
