Marmark is Cormar's great rival for power in the dwindling world of Mereval. The most heavily populated of the island kingdoms, Marmark has the largest standing army, although not necessarily the best troops.
Marmark is also unique in two other things; cities and politics. Alone of the islands, Meremark has more than one major city - in fact three: Belmark, Verten, and Burmar. More Marmarkers live in cities and towns than any other nationality.
With such a large and urbanized population, Marmark has something none of the other kingdoms has; politics. The nobility of Marmark is spread between the three cities, and the king's word is not as absolute in Verten and Burmar as it is in Belmark. The dukes of the two cities, Gaponask and Qurria respectively, each rather feels that he should really be king of Marmark.
