Vast chasm opened by sorcery in the ground where the city of Englor once stood
Englor was the capital of Velmar before the war. At a fearful price never disclosed, the King of Cormar gained the aid of the wizard Calatin of Wizard's Isle and the capital of Velmar disappeared into a vast chasm in the ground; the Englor Trench. Cormar won the war and annexed Velmar.
The trench remains a site of ill omen, shunned by most and sparse of flora and fauna.
