Wizard's Tower

Tower on an island off Cormar, in legend the home of powerful and perilous workers of magic

Once set on a hill amidst an enchanted forest, it is said, the Wizard's Tower appears in many of the tales handed down from the years before the drowning of Vadorn. Now it stands alone on a small island, just off the west coast of Cormar.

In the tales it is held to have been the home of a mighty and perilous sorcerer named Calatin, whose bargains were dangerous and often deadly to the questing hero who did not examine them closely enough.

In recent times, the inhabitant of the tower, also named Calatin - doubtless in an attempt to utilize the legends to enhance his own reputation - made an agreement with the then King of Cormar to assist him in his war with neighboring Velmar. A fearful price was paid, never fully disclosed, and the capital of Velmar disappeared into a vast chasm in the ground; the Englor Trench. Cormar won the war and annexed Velmar.

No-one has visited Wizard's Tower or spoken with Calatin since, although given a hundred and ten years have passed, it is unlilkey that he is still there.
