Black sword of Fae Mhor make, buried in the priests' tomb at Hightower
1655
Created by the master swordsmith Dariask Baneblade. Carried by Toryassu until the fall of Raldar Z'hin's empire; its' fate - and hers - are unknown.
The sword is mentioned in the famous Journals of Elverandil, parts of which have found their way into the hands of collectors. According to that work, the Veldrin was forged by the Fae Mhor master swordsmith Dariask Baneblade, who also created the damned sword Tormentor, now rumoured to be in the hands of Surya of Tellare.
Baneblade was reputed to have created eight mighty swords in honour of his demon queen and goddess Lolth, and to have imbued them with the Chaos she represents. However, some accounts claim he overdid this and that all the swords - while very powerful - are effectively cursed. Regardless, the Fae Mhor now regard them as holy (?unholy) items and will pursue sightings of any of them outside their hands to extremes.
The Veldrin was the weapon of Raldar Z'hin's personal assassin Toryassu. With it she perpetrated many killings both within the political arena in Nindolen and in Alair in general. Legends hint that she may have killed a close relative of the hero Galoriand with it at some point.
As documented elsewhere, Raldar Z'hin's brief empire among the Fae Mhor came to an abrupt end when he was overthrown by jealous matriachs of other Houses. No account of the fate of Toryassu or the Veldrin exists.
