The Tainted Forests on the borders of Trialt have been terribly warped from the pleasant hilly pinewoods they were before. Dark, evil, twisted, slimy things lurk in the southern reaches, while north of the Vileflow, something unspeakable is rumoured to lurk beneath the trees. No reliable witness has returned to report what it may be.
In 1618 the Slitheren ratmen were driven from the Desolation and took over the southern half of the forest, an environment that suited them perfectly.
