Crassus

Commander of the Praetorian Guard; harsh, efficient
1601

Granted honorary membership of the Senate (though not voting rights) by his rank. Assigned to the investigation of the events at the Jealous Wench and Vintares Gate, along with the purging of the Pulverae.

With the decapitation of the Pulverae, Crassus assumed control of the Imperial Secret Service, nominally while it was purged, but with every appearance of permanancy.

He tightened his grip as the years went on and by the time he retired in 1633, the secret service was firmly established as a part of the Praetorian Guard.
