His promotion came about almost by accident after Hildraft made an off-hand reference to his being "in charge" in a letter to the then High Priest, Rasmussen. The heirachs of the Kordasa took this as the will of the Hand of Kord and promoted him on the spot.
The Lasombra assassin Nham was despatched to slay Jasselan, but one of his earlier targets - Skufruss Lord of Dragons - slew him before he reached the Kordasa.
Jasselan was assassinated in the heart of the Temple by an unknown assassin in 1624, triggering war with Tarlanor.
