Northern land, gateway to the unknown lands north of Known Alair, centre of Varkar's realm
-
Controlling the only known pass through the Engeror Mountains, Duceor had both power and responsibility. While very few travellers came through the Vesate pass most of the time, occasional groups of dwarf traders would come down on their way to their kin in the Ereans.
Far more often, orcs, wolves and other fell creatures come through the pass, and the fortress city of Vorsand was built to guard the pass and keep these incursions at bay. The knightly Order of Lanrath maintained its’ motherhouse in northern Duceor. Part of its’ duties was the provision of troops to Vorsand, but they also acted as a defence against the orcs of Gadûhvrás, who occasionally attempted to raid into the farmlands of Duceor or Trialt. Duceor’s main products were corn and pork.
Duceor was the first land to fall under the Dragon's rule, and remained his primary residence for the rest of his life. As the capital of his realms, it was also home to many of the most powerful Kin, and once the Dark Beast was dead, they began to squabble amongst themselves over the levers of power.
When the post-Varkar land grab ended in the mid-1600s, what had once been Duceor was absorbed into Tarlanor and the nation ceased to exist.
