Thelvian is a warrior and seer - an unusual combination for one of the Kin - and in the chaos following the Slaying, he proved a strong independent leader. His rule had always been harsh but fair, and required very little modification to change Enning to a stable independent kingdom. Of all the Kin lands, his has the least unrest and disaffection.
His unique prescience allows him to see probable futures, clouding around things and people, from which he has to pick out the most likely in order to 'predict' events. Certain powerful beings, however, make their own destiny and are what he calls 'fateless'; this includes many major heroes and all Kin of whatever type. Of the future of these he can see nothing.
