north of Vättern Fforjd.
In the vast forests Grimhild, like here brothers & sisters, she learnt the craft of the hunter assisting her parents in their servitude to the Jarls dotted around the locality.
As Grimhild grew older the son of one particular Jarl took more than a passing interest in Grimhild's development, on the eve of her fourteenth summer however his lust overflowed & he drunkenly accosted Grimhild looking for far more than a kiss, fortunately for Grimhild one of her elder brothers heard the disturbance & intervened, regrettably for her brother blood was spilt & the rejected suitor died several days later.
Despite the intervention of a lawspeaker & the offer of weregeld the bereaved father rejected the decision of the wapentake & called bloodfeud, events escalated & yet more blood was spilt, not least the Jarl himself & Grimhilds father, Hrolf Ravensson, in514AD.
Several years passed during which her brothers took up the mantle left behind by her father, realising that her future lay elsewhere, Grimhild took up bondi with a tinker & spent nigh on a half score happy summers moving around the central provinces of Sweden before she settled in Birka in 525AD taking up the rank of carl & land warden within the household of Solmund, son of Vandrad Shortshanks, Rig-Jarl of Birka.
It was here that she met Anora Glum & Ragnar Geirstein as well as her masters only son Thorfinn Vigavagn & became entwined in the events of the 19th Einmánuður 727AD.
