Born in Brev in the year 10,099. Illyra had a relatively pleasant childhood, her Father was a small time peddlar of potions and alchemist of meagre reputation. Illyra showed some interest in her fathers trade and following the loss of her oldest sister and younger brother, plague, Illyra's mother died in tragic circumstances, giving birth to her youngest sister. Following this disaster time her father persevered to continue the education of his three remaining daughters. When Illyra reached the age of 15 he could no longer cope with rigours of life without his wife, the pressures of single parenthood and his continuing failure as an alchemist and spiraling debts. Like all inadequate dabblers in the mystic arts he finally blew himself to bits, this was assumed to be an accident, a typical end to alchemist - lead to gold, BANG! -this was however until they found the charred note he'd left for his daughters.
Ironically this was probably Isichas most successful and conclusive experiment, a small lump of gold was found in the shattered remains - unfortunately the experiment was understandably unrecorded. Illyra's eldest sister was by now married and her younger sister took up service. With the tragic death of her father Illyra lost all interest in the arts of pure alchemy, so armed with some minor magic's she left her home town for a life unknown.
Life on the road however was not easy and Illyra rapidly had to learn to protect her own self interests or suffer the consequences. Eventually employment came in the form of an apprenticeship/servant/bodyguard to a pharmacist in Tolviroth Acerte, after several years however she realised that this was not how she intended to spend the rest of her life but before she could afford to again take to the road history repeated itself andher patron went bankrupt and used his own talents to end his life.
Left therefore with a only a few coins, an empty stomach and an impatient landlord Illyra finds herself floating in the Teemings of High Medurim looking for a way out.
