Marilla Nizharu aka. Tharla
Born in the great Nevrym forests in the year 10,094 Tharla, as she is known to her freinds, is the consequence of a brief interracial affair between her father, a Nevrym forest warden/hunter and a elfish maiden. Soon after her birth her father died in the year 10,096 in a tragic hunting accident and her mother returned to her own people with the young child. Despite the loss of her father, Tharla had a pleasant upbringing among the elves clan, learning much that would serve her well in later life. However the old races, with the exception of the Dwarves of North Keep, were passing into history and as they retreated deep into the forests and mountains, the prejudices of humankind came more and more to the forefront. Aged eleven she was growing rapidly and the differences between her and her peers was becoming more and more evident. Her elven mother reluctantly took her back to her human family where it was thought she would find her niche. This however was not to be, prejudices were rife amongst the uneducated and Tharla soon had to learn to disguise her elfish background. Taking leave of the great forests she drifted across the realm, her racial talents lending themselves to her survival and avoiding the abuses of men. Serving variously as a courier, scout, bodyguard and dishwasher Tharla has wandered through the city states and currently is employed in a tavern/whore house in the slum district, Teeming, of High Medurim. Capable of great things but reduced to serving drunken slobs and fighting of their fawning attentions is not a life she wishes to pursue, she is aware of three fellow misfits who sit apart from the unwashed masses, nursing their warm watery beers against the afternoon heat. She is also aware that one of the three hides a secret, like her he is a cross breed, but where her ancestry is mistrusted his is loathed and despised. Whilst she too knows the cruelty of his forebears she accepts this is not his cross to carry. Maybe these three are her passage from this pit of hell.
