Born in 1976 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama "Skinpin" aka. Elwood James Thoragood had an uneventful childhood; There was little chance of an illustrious career in the family run "Gator Farm" so after a brief spell working as an attendant in the state morgue Elwood took any job he could get & worked his way successfully through Medical School.

Shortly before qualifying however he was, falsely, accused & arrested for selling methadone to an ex girlfriend, although ultimately cleared it did not prevent him from being kicked out of Med School.

In 1999 looking for a way to progress his career he joined the 173rd Airborne Brigade, Medical Corps in which he served as a more than capable airborne paramedic until 2012 when the troop carrier on which he was flying was hit by friendly fire. Although he escaped with only minor physical injuries, psychologically he was shot to shit. After six months in military hospital he couldn't come to terms with the death of his comrades by friendly fire, particularly the death of his squad sergeant, Maria "Honey" Cotez, with whom he was emotionally involved, & so he discharged himself & hung up his wings.

After drifting for a year or so, he landed in Night City in 2014 where he has remained pretty much ever since working on & off for any one of the numerous ripperdoc's dotted around the less salubrious areas of the city.

Those that don't know Skinpin when meeting him for the first time near always put him in the catorgary of burnt out dope head going nowhere, despite however his self inflicted addiction to multiple narcotics there is much more to Skinpin than meets the eye, you just have to dig deep to find it.

Like others around him the Forlorn Hope is a place where he can find solace with those that understand & when the voices come back, well, its somewhere friendly to hide.
