The Past

Despite the name Mariusz Boronski is as Canadian as they come. Born of solid parents in Moose Jaw, Province of Saskatchawan, Canada. In 1988 Mariusz wanted to see the world & joined the Canadian Army at LWFA in Edmonton in 2005. Serving initially with the 35th airborne regiment, formerly the Airborne Services Command (Support), Boronski saw service in numerous peace keeping & protective operations both at home & abroad almost continually since first enlisting.

During his enlistment he rose to the heady rank of Chief Warrant Officer (E9) & was honoured with the Member of the Order of Canada(CM), the Saskatchawan order of Merit(SOM), the Star of Military Valour(SMV), the Canadian Peacekeeping Services Medal(CPSM), the Star of Courage(SC) & the Multinational Force & Observers(Sinai MFO) as well as his white jump wings.

In April 2014 he was one of 200 or so troops dropped into Bauska, Lithuania to protect Red Crescent & UN inspectors as political unrest esculated into widespread civil disturbance. The latter half 2015 saw increasing tension between Lithuania & Latvia, with spiraling border incursions & under threat of imminent invasion by Latvian Nationals, Lithuania hired mercenaries to resist the Latvian's war mongering.

A decision was taken by the UN's ambassador to evacuate the UN's own, as well as Red Crescent, civilian & medical workers into Estonia unfortunately with regretable consequences. Whilst moving towards the Estonian border the lightly armed peacekeepers & their charges were, without warning, hit by heavy & sustained artillery from the nervy Lithuanian ground forces, despite valiant efforts on the part of the combined protection force the medical staff, evacuees, Red Crescent & UN staff as well as the the peacekeeping force themselveswere near annihilated. mention .

In the aftermath of these events much finger pointing took place by all & sundry from blood thirsty media looking for a cheap headline, would be governmental politicians putting in the knife & military attaché's looking for scapegoats, Mariusz Boronski, one of the few surviving NCOs was one such minnow out of his depth.

The Present

"Bastards, all of em', bastards, ten years, go here, go there, don't return fire its not their fault their trying to blow you to bits, shit, shit, shit, an' what do you get for it, a shiny star, a pat on the back, some pretty ribbon & then, well, then they say you shouldn't have shot back, you shouldn't have retaliated, retaliated my arse, we was fuckin' crucified & just tryin' to save our necks, save somebody, anybody"

Discharged, dishonourably, ex warrant officer Mariusz Boronski sat at the bar in the Forlorn Hope talking to a bar tender who'd heard it all before, a thousand times, but wasn't going to disrespect the slumped figure of the bars latest patron, if half of what this guy spouted was true then he was drinkin' in the right joint. Sullenly Boronski thought about his future, nearly broke he needed work soon, he'd heard that the Forlorn Hope could offer contracts, special contracts for the likes such as him, to late to be choosey, to many memories to forget.
