The Ertl Companywas founded by Fred Ertl, Sr. in Dubuque, Iowa in the 1950's, the company flourished to become a multifaceted marketer of farm toys, model kits and die-cast collectibles.
In 1999 Racing Champions Corporation acquired the Ertl company & following other acquisitions in 2003 was renamed the RC2 Corporation, like most things from across the water they just keep getting bigger, the RC2 corporation now produce a vast array of collectible's ranging from all things NASCAR to Winnie the Pooh.
I'm surprised that such a vast corporation manufacture a couple of Landrover models, but then again maybe I shouldn't be, anyway having looked at their vast array of products I'm glad I only collect Landrovers.
