Bburago was founded in 1974 by Mario Besana, (see Mebetoys), Like Hongwell its gone for quality of its models and to its attention-to-detail at the right price but has compramised on the range of scales offered, 1:18 / 1:24 / 1:43 & its been pretty succesful. In Bburago own words they "offer a product of quality, which combines the fun of play with the passion of collecting"
Bburago has signed an agreement with Disney to produce car models linked to major Disney characters, which has been pretty succesful, they haven't stopped there: it recently inaugurated a unique experience in the panorama of car collecting: "Prima," the jewel signed by B.Burago and GGiugiaro Design, the unique example of a miniature model in real scale.
Like all things Italian they seem to think therir the best looking on the market & with some of the larger scale sports cars their probably right but the smaller scales don't feel quite right, they do feel more toy than collectable, cheap looking wheels & poor detail, fortunately they don't make many Landrovers so it doesn't matter to much to me.
